My Fish Is Not Moving! What Can I Do? Por que meu peixe está parado no fundo do aquário?

My Fish Is Not Moving! What Can I Do? There are numerous reasons that can cause this behavior in fish. In this article, we will cover some of them.

Most aquarium fish usually swim throughout the tank. This occurs when they are well fed and properly treated by the owner. However, fish can be stressed in the same way as humans. Like us, stress in fish can lead to serious health complications.

In general, fish are very resilient creatures, and as long as their living conditions are reasonable, they can withstand some stress.

But Why My Fish Is Not Moving?

Some fish like betta fish, for example, usually swim excitedly when someone passes in front of fish tank. Not moving isn’t a characteristic of this animal.

However, all living things need to rest. A fish may be standing at the bottom of the aquarium simply because it’s sleeping. The preferred way of sleeping for a fish varies from species to species. Some of them, for example, even lie down at the bottom of the tank to sleep. Almost causing the owner a heart attack!

Usually the fish get scared when you get close to the tank, or swim quickly when the lights come on. This is a sign that they were certainly just resting.

Is My Fish Being Chased By Others?

A fish that is afraid of an aquarium companion is likely to be hiding. Any change in the appearance or behavior of a fish can mean problems caused by stress.

Other signs that may appear include bitten or stuck fins. If several fish show some of these symptoms, also check the water quality and take quick steps to improve it. You may need to remove it from the tank and place it in a quarantine tank.

    Does Water Quality Influence?

The water conditions can cause a lot of stress on the fish and cause it to stand in the corner of the tank. If you notice the fish panting on the surface, or too long on the bottom, test the water immediately.

If your fish is not moving, watch carefully if the gills are moving. Touching the body and shaking the water should at least elicit a subtle response in the animal, even if it is sick.

    It Could Be A Disease…

A sick fish, perhaps poisoned by ammonia or nitrites in the water, will become lethargic, pinching its fins and tail, remaining at the bottom of the tank. The sick fish usually doesn’t eat or eat anything. Their colors will be pale and their scales bristled.

As we can see, there are countless reasons that can cause fish to stay at the bottom of the fish tank. The main causes are poor water quality, temperature, inadequate pH and persecution of other fish.

Remember that you are probably the indirect cause of most of the stress your fish suffer. However, you are also the only solution to help them out of this!

I accidentally dropped my fish { Khloe} in the sink while trying to pour her back in the tank. I had to pick her up because the net wasn’t helping. Now i am super concerned because she keeps swimming when i shake the tank but when i dont she just stops moving, but shes still breathing.
